This is the sequel to the work dealing with the daily life of women in the Middle Ages. A new approach to the feminine world is offered here: it is within her life, in society, that we find her — outside of work, but in her relationships with neighbours, with her husband, in the place she occupies and the role she plays in the community where her perspective prevails. This society views women through multiple and even contradictory facets. We find side by side Eve, the image associated with sin and the flesh, and Mary, placed above all the saints — the mother. Once again, far from a presentation of the lives of elite women, it is the search for "the ordinary woman" — the peasant, the bourgeoise — that prevails in this work. We have drawn on numerous sources, primarily from the 14th and 15th centuries, that "autumn of the Middle Ages".
