The designers develop their collections drawing inspiration from the French criminal underworld of the early 20th century. The research is grounded in historical facts about the "Milieu", the history of the "bousillé" tattoo of the French pre-war criminal world, etc. At the turn of the century, a man of the underworld who wanted to be seen as tough and respected would have his résumé tattooed on his skin. These "Fleurs de Bagne" — tattoos recounting the life of a criminal — were his calling card in the underworld.
